4th Annual Run to Church 5K

📍 Faith Lutheran Church Columbus Ohio

Community in motion

The Run to Church 5K is a unique mix of fitness, fellowship, and purpose. Hosted by Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall, the race winds through nearby neighborhoods and loops around Lamby Lane Park. Every step supports local social services, turning a morning run into something that gives back.

This year’s event drew families, friends, and first-time runners from all over Columbus. From the opening stretch circle to the post-race worship service, the energy felt hopeful and rooted in connection. It was the kind of morning where everyone belonged, whether they came to race, walk, volunteer, or simply cheer from the sidelines.

The spirit of participation

Photographing this event was about more than documenting movement. It was about catching those quiet exchanges that define community: a helping hand at the water table, a smile from a volunteer, a parent jogging beside their child.

These are the images that show what neighborly connection looks like, real people coming together for something that matters. The race becomes less about time and more about shared experience, the kind that lingers long after the finish line.

Reflection

From start to finish, the Run to Church 5K tells a story of community, compassion, and purpose. It’s a reminder that even the simplest gatherings can reveal the best of us, the effort, the joy, and the spirit that keep people moving forward together.

If you are planning an event that celebrates people and purpose, I would love to help tell that story.
