Remi and Sky’s Baby Shower
📍 Gramercy Clubhouse, New Albany, Ohio
A celebration full of color and connection
Some gatherings just feel different. You walk in and it’s like stepping into a story already unfolding. That’s what it was like at Emily and Houston’s baby shower for their twins, Remi and Sky.
The whole space was alive, full of color, laughter, and that quiet kind of anticipation that hums in the background when something big is about to happen. Everyone there seemed to know they weren’t just celebrating a date on a calendar. They were welcoming two beginnings at once.
The joy in every small detail
It was one of those Ohio spring days where the light does you a favor. Soft, easy, forgiving. Tables overflowed with color, from the flowers to the hand-wrapped gifts, with bits of ribbon catching the light.
Friends drifted between stories and laughter while a Polaroid camera made its rounds, snapping those imperfect little photos that somehow tell the truth better than anything else. You could feel the love in the air, a mix of excitement, tenderness, and disbelief that these two tiny people were almost here.
Even though I was there as a friend, I couldn’t help slipping into photographer mode. Watching quietly. Waiting for those moments that speak louder than poses ever could.
Reflection
There was so much joy in that space. Every frame felt like it was holding both love and anticipation, the sense that everyone could already see Remi and Sky before they arrived.
It reminded me why I love doing what I do. Some stories start small, in rooms filled with laughter and light. And if you’re lucky enough to be there at the beginning, you never forget it.
Behind the scenes: I was both guest and storyteller that day, which made every moment feel a little more personal. It’s a gift to witness life’s biggest chapters from both sides of the camera.
If you are planning a celebration that deserves to be remembered with warmth and color, I would love to help tell that story.
